Biodel Inc. (nasdaq: BIOD)

Shares of Biodel Inc. moved lower 9/11/08 as concerns continued over the company's late-stage program for the diabetes treatment Viaject. The stock fell 12 cents, or 2.3 percent, to close at $5.14. Shares hit an all-time low of $4.34 over continued concern from Wall Street on the latest late-stage study results for Viaject. The company said Viaject met its goals in a pair of recent trials, but it discounted some of the results from the type 1 diabetes trial. It said those results were markedly different from what was reported in other countries, and they do not appear to be valid. If the results from India are included, the study does not establish that Viaject is at least equivalent to Eli Lilly & Co.'s drug Humulin.
