Background
Cardinal completed its initial public offering in December 2025 at $21.00 per share. On February 18, 2026, it announced the $245.5 million acquisition of A.L. What happened on August 11, 2026
On August 11, 2026, about seven weeks after the offering, Cardinal reported second-quarter results showing an adjusted EBITDA margin of 12.4%, compared with 18.6% a year earlier, and lowered its full-year margin guidance to a range of 16% to 18%. The Company pointed to higher labor, equipment and subcontractor costs. The stock fell $21.73 per share, or about 36%, from $60.00 to $38.27. It has continued to decline, closing at $21.12 on October 9, 2026, near its IPO price and well below the June offering price.
